    (Advertising) Traditionally, I usually try to get away from the cold and wet Europe in January. Two times it has taken me to Morocco. But why not even to the other end of Africa, to South Africa?

    South Africa offers the inclined outdoor enthusiast plenty of experience. Not only the usual safaris, I have heard that there are wonderful trails, and one or the other exciting bouldering area can be found there.

    Fair Trade Tourism

    In the country a lot is done in terms of "Fair Trade Tourism", as it was the first tourist destination to introduce a Fair Trade seal for tourist attractions. 64 providers, from lodges to guided tours, are certified with the Fair Trade Tourism Seal (FTT). More under fairtrade.travel.

    Hiking in South Africa

    By the famous Kruger National Park lead seven shorter wilderness trails, at fixed camps can be accommodated. Who likes it a bit wilder, for which there are so-called backpacking trails. Together with a ranger you explore the park for four days. The Mphongolo Trail sounds particularly exciting, as no fixed camps are called, but on the way is decided, where the camp is pitched.
