The Mountainer is made of sturdy, slightly elastic synthetic fiber blended fabric and has on the knees, on the buttocks and on the ankle insides Corduraeinsätzen that withstand a lot. The material of the pants is very tightly woven, making them extremely robust, wind and water repellent, quick drying - and also quite warm.
Some elaborate details make it one of my favorite pants for all tours of the harder gait: the waistband is slightly elastic and a flat belt is already included. However, I usually wear them with flat suspenders (loops are prepared at the waistband), which has proven itself very well. After one or more long days with backpack in the area nothing slips and the pants stay in place. The knees are slightly preformed, also here rubs and disturbs when climbing nothing. The good fit is further supported by the fact that the pants are slightly elastic.
The three closable and low-set pockets (two on the front, one on the right thigh) and an additional, side pocket on the left hip are sufficiently large and easily accessible. On the small details like the 2-way zipper at the front, you just realize that the designers themselves are alpinists.
Only one eyelet on the ends of the trouser legs is missing. These can be adjusted by Velcro to the boots, but not attached to it. Too bad, a small detail that would complete the overall impression of the mountainers.
Conclusion: value for money is great, only the shortcoming with the eyelet prevents a 5-star rating!
